Athlone High once again was the leading school in the district in virtually all the subjects, a testimony to the diligence of the teachers and students. Mr Hayat (Biology) and Mr Gysman (Mathematics) were playing significant roles. Apart from the academic success, the school continued to thrive in sport as well despite the very limited resources. Mr Meyer had successfully organized an inter-class soccer tournament.
