Spirituality had always been a significant feature at Athlone and there was now a resurgence of evangelical Christianity at the school amongst the staff and students. Praise, prayer and worship were aspects of devotional times during interval meetings.

Mrs Lochner the great Biology teacher successfully introduced a prefect system to the school.

Matric balls continued to be glamorous and we staged this year’s event at the Podium Hall in Cape Town.
