Thank you for applying to our prestigious school that is steeped in history. We have a proud academic, cultural and sport history. Please keep in mind that submitting the completed application form does not guarantee a place at Athlone High. Completed application forms must be accompanied by a R50 .
Our School motto speaks volumes in terms of all that we stand for. The motto Nihil Sed Optimus translated "Nothing but the Best" is at the heart of our values-based and principled pedagogy. In order for us to grow our vision of excellence, we believe in recruiting the student with the best marks. A copy of the child's 2018 grade 6 end-of-year report must be included. Applicant must strive to do their very best in the forthcoming grade 7 March 2019 examinations. March report marks will be meticulously examined.
The principal and interviewing committee comprising teachers and Governing Body parents will make an appointment to interview you and your child. This interview also does not guarantee a placements but could be a positive indication that your child would be accepted. The returned application form must include a handwritten motivational letter (250 words) by the child as to why he or she is applying to Athlone High. An ID photograph must be attached. The proposed school fees for 2020 is R2000. Parents of successful applicants must pay a deposit of R500. This amount will be a down-payment towards the school fees.
We are a school that sets standard, especially with redargds to discipline and hard work. A copy of the school's code of conduct is included with this application document.
